Styled Strategy: What I Actually Do All Day

A day in the life of a brand girlie with a classroom key (and no clear plan, but vibes).

TL;DR: I teach high school by day and build brands after hours. It’s messy, anything but linear, and exactly where I’m meant to be.. for now. Figuring it out and turning the in-between into something meaningful.

I’m not exactly where I want to be, but I’m building toward it - between classes, Canva, and a thousand open tabs.

I’m a creative director, a social strategist, a branding girlie with a soft spot for a good font and a better moodboard.

I’m also a high school teacher!

Right now, anyway.

Because sometimes the path isn’t linear, and that’s kind of the magic.

Yep. My 7-to-3 involves classroom chaos, Chromebooks that have the internet blocked, and a lot of explaining the difference between the taiga and the tundra (it’s literally just trees..).

But before (and after, and in between) that? I run The Erin Lee Co. A creative studio built around branding, content, and social strategy. I help businesses show up online in ways that actually feel like them. I think a good moodboard can change your life. I believe marketing can be personal and polished. And I know from experience that the best brands tell a story.. not just with their captions, but with their visuals, their timing, their vibe.

So, what do I actually do all day?

Here’s the honest breakdown:

☕ Morning: Coffee, Chaos, & Catch-Up

  • I teach. That’s my main role right now. It’s fulfilling, exhausting, and wildly different from the brand work I’ve done full-time in the past.

  • Between bells or on lunch, I’ll sneak in a Canva fix, check in on client DMs, or write down an idea for a blog post (usually on a sticky note I lose 30 minutes later).

💻 Afternoon: Classroom to Content

  • After school, I shift. From teacher brain to brand brain.

  • I’ll review a client’s Instagram audit, sketch out a strategy doc, or plan content for The Erin Edit (hi, you’re reading it).

  • Sometimes I’m editing Reels. Sometimes I’m questioning my entire career path. Often both!!

✨ Evening: Studio Hours (aka Me Time)

  • I dream about what’s next. Fashion design? Blogging full time? Building out my agency again? Who knows?

  • I moodboard like it’s my job (because in a way, it is) (and we will talk more about this later).

  • I build things.. for clients, for myself, for the version of me I’m slowly growing into.

I guess this is my way of saying: life isn’t linear, and neither is creative work.

Right now, I’m a marketer in a teacher’s body. A designer without a line (yet). A strategist with a classroom pass.

And here’s the thing: all of it counts. All of it builds something.

This isn’t a “how I made it” post. It’s a “here’s where I am” post. I’m trying things, building things, and trying to make it all look and feel like me along the way.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to start writing the story.

This space - The Erin Edit - is where I get to bring it all together. The lessons, the longing, the strategy, the style. Whether you’re a brand, a dreamer, or someone figuring it out in your own way, I’m glad you’re here.

If you’re in the middle of something too, welcome.
